For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel:
in returning and rest you shall be saved;
in quietness and trust shall be your strength. (Isaiah 30:15)
Through the centuries, people of faith have sought the rest and quiet of a hermitage. Holy Ground’s hermitage is a small, yet comfortable, cabin in the woods, situated on a ridge overlooking the rolling hills of southwestern Pennsylvania. It is a special place where the rush and hectic pace of everyday life may be set aside for a while, offering opportunities for rest, prayer and spiritual renewal.
The length of stay at the hermitage is as short as one or two nights, and as long as a week. Some visitors wish to meet with Betty for guidance and direction as they prepare for their retreats; 0thers desire simply to enjoy time alone in quiet reflection and rest. For any who wish, simple and nourishing food will be provided (including a small loaf of homemade bread).
Fees for staying at the hermitage vary, according to the amount of spiritual direction desired, and whether one wants to have food provided. Gift certificates are also available. Please contact Betty for more information.
